Christmas Carols @ DePuy Synthes

The School Choir, led by the wonderful Mrs. Rivers, brought joy and festive cheer to our dear senior citizens during a special concert organized by DePuy Synthes and the invaluable Kerry Seymour.

With beautiful harmonies and heartfelt performances, the choir created a warm and uplifting atmosphere, making the event truly memorable. The children's enthusiasm and talent were evident as they shared their music, spreading happiness and creating a lovely connection with the senior guests. It was a heartwarming occasion, and we are so proud of the choir for their outstanding performance and kindness in bringing smiles to so many faces. DePuy organised a fantastic, delicious Christmas dinner and as a thank you to our wonderful performers, each child received a gift from Santa! We will never forget that day!

Year 6 Leeds United Workshops

We were delighted to have the Leeds United Primary Choices Team in to work with Year 6. We took part in a range of activities on the impact of crime and violence, which will support us in making the right choices to divert us away from violence, harm and exploitation.

Into University

Year 6 classes took part in a focus week all about Art History! The children studied famous people from artistic backgrounds including Yinka Shonibare and Benjamin Zephaniah! On Tuesday, we were visited by a Professor of Paleontology and a Lecturer of Design and got to make our own cool fossil prints! Then we went to the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, where we studied the amazing art and even had a go at making some of our own! Finally on Friday, we graduated! We performed special presentations and got to wear our very own mortar boards and gowns!

Macbeth Performance
Bravo to our cast of talented Year 6s who performed Shakespeare’s Macbeth to a captive LKS2 audience on Wednesday afternoon. You were all truly astounding!

Year 6 Empowerment Art

Year 6 pupils worked alongside our resident artist to create this wonderful artwork on the theme of empowerment!

Year 6 Christmas cards

Children have developed plenty of new art skills during this year’s Christmas card-making endeavour! Learning continues right up to the very last day of term!

Author Visit - Hannah Durkan

This week everyone is talking about Zeina Starborn and the Sky Whale by the fantastic author Hannah Durkan! We were so inspired by her assemblies and book signing. We can’t wait to write our own science fiction stories!

Ahoy there matey!
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their music workshops with Cockburn Academy’s marvellous Miss Mansfield. We can’t stop singing the Wellerman sea shanty!

Wellbeing & Meditation Workshops

Thank you to our friends at @DePuySynthes for delivering wonderful wellbeing and meditation workshops to our Year 6 children! We will use our new journals to make sure that we take time out from our phones and social media- particularly before bed!
